Works well with Home Assistant. It paired easily using ZHA Integration.
The sensor reports open/closed state and battery life.
I am using it on refrigerator doors to alert if a door is left open.

Love these little guys. I have 4 in active use and I just ordered another 3. They are responsive, look good and are fairly small.
I have one of them above my most used exit and after 3 months its at 56%. It appears that the battery life is about 6 months for active use and slightly longer for less used doors/windows
For really hard to reach places, or very active sensors, I would still do an ESP8266 and a reed sensor since you plug those in
