This device comes preflashed with Tasmota, but will still require a little configuration. You will need to:

  1. Run “Backlog Weblog 3; so65 1; Module 75” in the Tasmota console
  2. Upload the EmberZNet firmware using the “Firmware Upgrade” feature

These steps can be taken using the device’s web interface, and do NOT require wires/soldering/disassembly.

Digiblur’s Configuration Guide lays out these steps in detail and also walks through adding the device to Home Assistant.

It was so easy to set up the bridge with the Zigbee Home Automation in Home Assistant (thank you for posting the link to digiblur’s blog). All of my devices paired with no trouble (Sengled, Sylvania, and SmartThings). Compact size of the bridge is a plus.

Even though I didn’t by my bridge from Cloudfree, I wanted to post feedback to hopefully help others.

After flashing with Tasmota, this has been a solid bridge to connect Zigbee devices to Home Assistant. I use it to pair stuff using the ZHA Integration. It hasn’t dropped any devices or lost connection a single time in the month or so I’ve been using it. It has been solid enough that it has made Zigbee devices my preferred means of connecting new smart devices, rather than cluttering my WiFi network.

On a side-note, digiblur’s blog was great for helping me flash and configure the device – something you won’t have to do if you buy this pre-flashed one!

Paired without issue, thanks for doing all the flashing work!

  4. Ed

Great product and fast shipping. I love that it is preflashed. I followed the provided instructions and it was up and running in no time.

I got this device, I read the above reviews, and thought it would be easy to configure and set up. I have followed the recommended instructions 5 to 6 times and each time when trying to integrate with Home Assistant I always get the failed to connect error message. Is there a troubleshooting guide available anywhere?

No troubleshooting guide, but send us a message and we’d be happy to help!

I posted a 3 star review (on 1/5/2022), however just for the sake of it I ran the set up again using the recommended instructions and low and behold it connected. I thank Kenny for reaching out and appreciate the strong customer support.

I must have gotten an early production run because mine came with a firmware that had some issue with the internal zigbee controller chip. With the help of the forums I was able to identify the issue and update the firmware to a more compatible version. Since then, this hub has been rock solid. I’ve got several devices connected to it at all times, and they all function as expected. This is a great add-on to extend Home Assistant’s capabilities.
